Year 1 & 2: Cat and bird pictures
Each week in this half-term, Year 1 and 2 have looked at a piece of art by Paul Klee. Today, we studied Cat and Bird (1928) and compared its style with that of others works featuring cats by Klee.
We looked carefully at the picture and considered what the cat might be feelingand thinking. The children enjoyed looking at photographs of Paul Klee's own cats.
They began by practising their outline drawing on a whiteboard until they were happy with their design.
Once the designs had been transferred onto paper, it was time to start adding chalk pastel.
