Sports Grant
Olympic Legacy Sport Premium Funding
In April 2013, the government announced new funding of £150 million for the development of Physical Education (PE) and sport. This funding was originally aimed for the two academic years: September 2013-August 2014 and September 2014 - August 2015 but this has now been extended.
This funding – provided jointly by the Department for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport – is being allocated to primary school headteachers. This funding is ring fenced to be used for sport specific areas to make an impact and improve the quality of sport and PE for all children.
Schools are free to determine how this money is best spent to improve the quality of teaching and learning of sport and PE within their provision.
